Two-thousand years ago, God came down from Heaven, and became a man (John 1:14) in order to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). This is Good News! The Loving Creator came to this earth in order to rescue us.
Jesus Christ is that Creator God (Colossians 1:15-22). He lived the perfect life, and never sinned once. He kept God’s rules perfectly. Because He is sinless, He was able to pay the penalty that our sin demanded.
Sin has consequences, that consequence is death. Yet, Jesus Christ, in an act of love, willingly died on the cross for sinners (Romans 5:6; Romans 5:8). On the cross, Jesus was a substitute for all those who will trust in Him. He took their punishment and died in their place.
After Christ had died, He was buried in a grave, but then three days later Jesus arose again from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
This is God’s love in action. Because of Jesus, and what He has done, we can be forgiven of all our sins, and go to Heaven when we die. He also promises to make us brand new, and give us a fresh start (2 Corinthians 5:17). However, we must respond to this message of love.
